About Our Beliefs
Hello, and welcome to our website. I hope that you find it easy to navigate and a asset to you as you learn more about our church.
Our church is a thriving church in Knightdale that believes in the power of the Holy Spirit. Our motto is “Passion for God, Compassion for people.” We strive to fulfill this vision by using our mission statement as our target or goal. The mission statement was on the welcome page.
I hope that you can get a chance to come and visit with us. I know that God will meet with you as He does with us each and every Sunday. Sunday morning worship begins at 11:00a.m.
This page is very important to me. It speaks about what we belief. Some churches have great music, preaching, and buildings, but if you ask them what they believe most of the people and sometimes even the pastor will have no clue. Only 4% of the generation born in 2002 to the present will have an understanding of the basic principles in God’s Word. That is down from over 50% in the 1950’s. Friends, if we don’t stand for something, we will fall for anything. We need to stand on God’s Word. These beliefs are based solely on scripture.
May God richly bless you and reveal Himself to you in 2008,
Pastor Philip Lyon
The Church of God (with international offices based in Cleveland, TN; visit their web site) has adopted the following Declaration of Faith as a statement of what we believe. Specifically, we believe:
- In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
- In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
- That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. We believe that He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
- That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
- That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
- In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
- Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
- In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
- In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
- In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
- Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
- In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
- In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
- In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Hi. Mike and I are looking for a church and have been to many. We live in Churchill on Old Faison Rd. What kind of worship do you do? What type of music? Do you believe in the gifts of the spirit? Do you believe in teaching prochecy and Revelation? Do you have Bible Studies? How many people attend? What time are your services? We are curious and still seeking. Thanks. Sheri
